API Integration:
Frequently Asked Questions
Your hub for answers to your questions about our Application Program Interface.
Application Programming Interface.
An API is a specialized computer communication allowing computer systems to exchange data using a set of recognized standards.
You will be able to send specific queries and retrieve real-time information from our system directly into yours.
TTI offers three APIs that return real-time data:
- Search API – single component, lead time, available inventory, price and more
- Quote API – information for a group of parts/bill of materials in a single query
- Order API – allows order placement rapidly via a direct link to our system
APIs utilize a real-time connection to instantly provide product, pricing and availability information directly from our system through a common protocol over a secure HTTP connection directly into your system.
EDI relies on a unique protocol for parsing orders, invoices and other information, and instead of real-time queries, EDI systems transmit data in batches and are most common to strict supply chain processes.
Immediate, real-time pricing, availability, lead time and component information will speed your time to market. APIs also return financial savings through reduced manual data-entry and order placement, which also improves accuracy.
Yes, the application of both will further enhance your overall operational efficiency and time to market.
The data enters directly into your company’s system vs. manually looking up and entering information from the web. And, Quote API will collect information for a group of components/bill of materials with one query.

Pricing is determined by the type of engagement you have with TTI – if you have a contract pricing agreement that pricing will be reflected.
Your VIP pricing can be incorporated once your TTI Specialist has configured your account.
Search API pricing will change with web pricing. Quotes via Quote API are valid for 30 days – same as a quote from your local TTI Specialist.
