Zener & Small Signal Diodes
Why are they used?
Zener or Small Signal Diodes is general-purpose signal diode. This si a "reverse biased" diode blocks current in the reverse direction, but will suffer from premature breakdown or damage if the reverse voltage applied across it is too high.
Applications / How do you spot opportunities?
Varies applications of zener diode includes:
1. Voltage Regulators (in shunt mode),
2. Surge Suppressors .i.e. for device protection
All Application need Zener Diodes.
